I'm graduating from nursing school in May. Can anyone give me some pointers on finding openings for new grads at Suburban? One of my instructors works there and highly recommends it as a great place to work.

Hi Pokytrokyt,

I was just hired for a position. So far I have been extremely impressed with the hiring process but anything will impress me after an awful, disorganized nursing school lol. Sorry I cannot give you more info but I have had a great experience in the 3 times I was there for the initial interview, new employee paperwork and ppd check. Good luck!

Congratulations! That's fantastic.

If you send me a private message, I'd have a zillion questions. But for starters:

Where in the hospital will you be working? And how did you get into the hiring process at Suburban?

When I look at their website, I can't see any positions posted that are open for new grads. Did you submit an online application, or go directly to the Nurse recruiter?

I was just hired there as well. I dont start orientation until April, but so far it seems like a special place. Different from the other hospitals I have been to. The staff there is great and everyone I have interacted with so far has been more than helpful. I would encourage you to apply to any open positions. HR is very responsive and the management is really invested in the nurses. (At least the NM I was lucky enough to get). I really think this will be a great place to work, not just a job. It seems like there are a lot of chances for education and new grads are not treated like curses on the world.

Congrats on your interview at Suburban! Can you tell me if you already have your RN or are still in nursing school, and which unit there you're applying for?

I submitted an application there just last week, and I'm still in school (graduating with my BSN next month).

I am so sorry I have not replied earlier-I had no idea that people replied.

@Pokytrokyt. I applied on-line but I also followed up and called HR. Ask for the Nurse Recruiter-she actually answered her phone! I know they just posted a new grad position for oncology. Apply now :)

@AntMarchingRN. I totally agree! I am so excited. I will see you Monday :) What about you?
