Study Guides & GPA's-Do you get any Guides in Nursing Program?

Published

Wow I have friends in FL who are consistently given study guides before a test. I have not had that luxury. I was wondering if that is GA thing of no study guides, especially for the science pre reqs or is it just my school?????

I cant imagine they give hints or study guides as to what the teachers in a nursing program will be testing on, or do they?

Thanks for sharing!

Almost all of my teachers give study guides because inevitably someone will ask for one. Unfortunately they typically cover every little thing that we learned so they are virtually useless.. I guess they are nice to have so that you make sure you don't forget to study anything, but they are not in any way 'hints' as to what's going to be on an exam.

No study guides here. We're told that everything is fair game, including subjects from previous semesters.

Just depends on the teacher. We have had study guides for Health Assessment, Peds, and Psych, but nothing else. When I do have a study guide, I only study the study guide so in a way it is detrimental because on the NCLEX, anything will be fair game.

Man, I wish we got study guides!

We get study guides. But sometimes there's things on the test that aren't on the study guides, so you still have to make sure you read and do the practice tests online and whatnot. But I think it's great having a study guide regardless because even though the stuff sometimes isn't on the test, it's good to look up everything on the study guide.

Are any of these nursing schools in GA?

Sorry, no I'm in NY.

We got maybe 2 study guides in ADN school...everything else was fair game.

I make my own. They have become wildly popular among my classmates, I should start charging, lol. I do very detailed outlines complete with tables, diagrams and pictures. Our Powerpoint lectures are often lacking and unclear, so my outlines fix that problem.

No study guides....someone asked for one during first year and was told that to the best of their knowledge, there wasn't one for the NCLEX, so there wouldn't be one for nursing school exams.
