Hi friends!
What are you all doing if an employee calls in saying they are having 'respiratory symptoms'.
This is my situation right now. We have a bus driver (who always wears a mask, around kids who always wear a mask, only 5 kids on the bus) who called in saying she is having 'respiratory symptoms'.
We are making her quarantine until her time is up (at minimum 10 days) or until she brings back a test result. But what do I do with the 5 students? Do they have to stay home until her test result comes back?
HELP!

What things are looking like in my state (it changes...) is that people with significant exposure to a possible COVID case quarantine until the case is ruled out. If it's ruled in, the contacts quarantine for the full 14 days.

I think this is what we’re doing too. But I honestly can’t remember any more.

There is a free contact tracing course through Coursera that takes about 6 hours to complete and results in a Johns Hopkins Contact Tracer Certificate. I highly recommend, if for no other reason, to have the information about the process. You will need a lot more information to determine if the kids need to quarantine and that course will be worth the time and it might help with anxiety about unknowns related to when employees and students are safe to return.
Stay healthy out there!
Awsome! Thank you for the info! I will definitely check it out!

This. I contact traced for three months in MA and it will be so very helpful come Fall for me. However, I'm trying to keep all my skills and data up to date as I will say the guidelines for quarantine and its length changed at least 3 times during my time as a contact tracer. We do know more know, of course, so they had been more stable there at least.
