New FNP student at Walden University.

How do you all feel that the cost of this program compares with others that have similar requirements? I mean 35K is no drop in the bucket for someone like me, but then again a career with the avg national salary in 80-90K seems to justify the expense.

Wow my cost is about 48000. Lucky u! But i couldn't find other schools that did rn-msn with a 2.5 gpa entrance except south university but i think the cost is worth it 4 the salary.

I wonder if its the same track as I am referring to the BSN to MSN track?

Yeah, I got accepted for the November's start for FNP. I'm happy and excited. I can't wait. I guess I will start getting prepared. Do anyone have any ideas how to get prepared?

sxyreesa. The start of the program is all nursing theory, writing papers on theory and practice, as well as writing and participating in discussions. Really no way to prepare aside from becoming familiar with word & purchasing a decent apa program linked to word.

other than that just try and work one week ahead as stuff happens, but never submit work before Monday. Generally all papers are due Sundays and DQs are due Wednesdays. quizzes are also due sundays... ensure you make time to do it all. When you get to the actual NP classes things will change quite a bit & become much more challenging. I recommend taking patho, pharm & assessment one at a time to ensure you actually have time to do both the reading & the coursework. clinicals start after that, so you will want to be ready. always feel free to contact me.

So I better go purchase my APA stuff to be attach to my word. Can I purchase that at Barnes and noble? Also what is DQ? Also I defiantly remember not take the keys classes together ....take them one at a time í ½í¸‰ Nursing Theory, ughhí ½í¸ because it's going to be great. Im away from home but if you PM me, ill send you the APA software info i use.. it has worked quite well for me.

DQ = discussion question. You post one a week, then respond to two or more students with citations on separate days. Its an effort to create scholarly discussions ðŸ˜.

series of hoops to jump through... until the NP courses, then please give it all you got ðŸ˜Š

Oh, ok...that's sound interesting...referring to the DQ's stuff....Anyway, thanks for the APA info. Whenever you can provide the info about APA would be great and plus I don't need it in no rush because I do have plenty of time before the start of class..lol I hope you are enjoying the time away.

Hello, I am about to begin my adv pharm class in Walden's Family NP program. After finishing adv path, did you feel overwhelmed due to the content? Am am just hoping and praying I make it to practicum because even getting an A in the course I do not know if I am prepared as other nurses starting their practicum or if this is a normal feeling. Any advice is appreciated

I can't answer your question because I haven't start my program yet and you are ahead of me. So I was just wondering about the core classes and all. Did u take 2 classes at time or 1 at time? When did you start your program? Also I would say that you will never fully learn everything in class for clinical or practicum. So I wouldnt stress out about not feeling prepared and all...Anyway, I hope that this ease your mind a little . when do you practicum starts?
