  1. HI! Currently an FNP ... I am looking for the cheapest online DNP program I can find, and crossing my fingers it is short in length. Any recommendations?

A doctorate is supposed to be difficult and time consuming. It is supposed to mark you as an expert in the field. Cheap and fast is not what you want out of a terminal degree. I am not a fan of the DNP credential and you just illustrated why. You are not a doctor of anything after a program like that.

I know I sound harsh and I don't mean it as a personal insult. I just think it needs to be said.

If you are a practicing NP you'd be crazy to pay anything for a MSN-DNP program: precept students and collect credits then use them for your MSN-DNP.

Many NP programs offer vouchers that can be used towards academic credits for precepting NP students. Some you have to ask for it, some will just automatically offer it, when you are contacted to precept, ask! Most schools call this a professional development voucher.

    Sure thing.

You also can get access to library resources, reduction of CME hours on board renwal, etc.
