Student Loans and Nursingexam.net

Published

I'm just getting started and studying for the first test, very nervous too !!! I'm wondering how everyone is doing it financially....what is the best company for student loans. I really hate it that we are not eligible for financial aid other than the loans. any tips will be much appreciated ! I'm using study group 101 and am considering the nursingexam.net one. Any one here who could recommend it ? thank you !

If you just pay by test, pay as you go, it is not too bad. I buy used, inexpensive books online.

Studygroup 101 is awesome!!

They don't take financial aid at all? I didn't realize that, I've just started looking into it so it's all new to me.

it's the nursing program that will have issues, as it is not recognized by some body (probably the feds, can't remember the details.)

See if you qualify for the NSL (nursing student loan); I think you're automatically considered when you apply for FAFSA loans, but I could be mistaken. Also I believe there are additional loans that are private albeit through the government for students specifically pursuing degrees in healthcare.

Also a little known secret-- people who take on student teachers are often rewarded credit vouchers. I went to a private university and even with $12,500 in student loans, $2,000 from the NSL and a $7,000 scholarship I STILL had a balance each semester, and commuted from home. So what I did was search credit vouchers on Craiglist. My university was 850 a credit for upper level division courses... but I would buy credit vouchers for anywhere from $1200-$1800; thus saving a significant amount of money. Granted I did pay cash for them and made many financial sacrifices as a result, but I didn't have to take out private loans which will affect your credit score (unlike student loans) to cover the differnce.

Again, this is not necessarily true for every school, but it is quite common. If you decide to look into this, you have to be careful. I personally never had an issue, but make sure the voucher has a serial number (which you can validate with the school) and that it's been signed by the principal, you can ask the person selling the credits what school they work for and the name of the principal and Google the school to make sure it's legitimate.

I know what a financial burden nursing school can be... but hopefully this will help you out!

I save and pay test by test. i'm using studygroup101 also, they are awesome. The feedback on ebay for nursingexam.net is REALLY bad.... Evidently the program doesn't work well and the answers are not right and there aren't rationales. So I'm told.

The Feds say you have to be an in house full time student to qualify for financial aid/ grants.

With Distance Learning we are not considered full time in house students.

Here is how I financed my EC ASN education and it may work for you.

You know the credit card applications we get in the mail for 0% financing all the time.

It wasn't junk mail to me. I would open an account use it for 6-9 months and then transfer it to another

0% card. By the time I was done with the program and got my RN...

I only had CPNE, the grad fee and boards to pay for

and paid that off in 3-4 months with my RN salary.

So if you have good credit then this is an option for you

Hope this help someone:)

Hell ya! That's what I used for the Health Safety Exam! It's actually a computer based practice exam program that you can use over and over again. Used it about a month.

Got a B the second time taking the exit exam but an F on the first try.
