Anyone get a notification about loans being forgiven? I am in the PSLF program, but I got an email that a portion of my loans were forgiven this month. The letter said I was not liable for taxes (mine were not private loans).
This just cut my loan balance in half! I have 4 1/4 years left on my PSLF but the payments are less than half of what I was paying. The loans were my RN-BSN loans. I had paid off my non-nursing loans off before I switched to nursing.
Sometimes there is good news 😄

I am concerned about this. I have not had any of my debt forgiven. Is it because I made too much money last year? Last year I had a $135k gross income as a single person.

I keep hoping to get an email, but nothing so far. I took out $16,000 in loans, have been paying for over 10 years. I've paid around $19,000 in that time. And I currently owe $11,000. Sigh.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program requirements
Quote If you're employed by a government or not-for-profit organization, you might be eligible for the PSLF Program. The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you've made the equivalent of 120 qualifying monthly payments under an accepted repayment plan, and while working full-time for an eligible employer.

That's about what I made during Covid. Mine is a little lower now that I am not doing so much OT. I did see a note about the loans being over 10 years old. I got my first degree in 1995, a masters in 2005 so I have been paying/deferred/paying for a while.
