Hello Everyone,
I am currently taking my last science class that is required for the Nursing program. I still have to take the TEAS, and I am very nervous. I am applying for the Spring 2015 program.
I will have a 3.71 GPA once I finish the summer semester. I would like to get some feedback on the TEAS and anything that can help me prepare for it. Was it challenging or pretty easy to follow?
When the nursing division is viewing the applications, what exactly are they looking at or for to determine who is accepted? How can I make sure I am in the top to get accepted?
Lastly, do you know how many students applied, and how many was accepted?
Any advice will be helpful!!!!!! Thanks in advanced!

I just sent out my application on Tuesday, very exciting now!
For the TEAS, a couple of things: 1: it is very very similar to the math and english placement tests, both in format and software. Since I took the placement exams in November and the TEAS in April, I felt very prepared and comfortable with the test. 2: Use the study guide, I found the test to be incredibly similar to the study guide and found that reviewing it quickly (the only review I did for it) the night before made sure the couple math concepts I was fuzzy on were clear in my head. If your math isn't up to par, go to Khan Academy and brush up on the topics that you need help with. Since the test is timed, if you're a slower or more meticulous test taker, time could run short, use tricks like if the question is asking to multply 2 numbers of 10+ digits with decimals, look at the number of decimals you should end up with, that will show you your answer. Quick head math tricks are a huge help. For the reading comprehension, read more difficult stuff. The excerpts are boggy and the questions are WEIRD.
They said at a MEC Exchange I went to this year that the last year they accepted all qualified applicants.
Thank you very much! @4thGenRN. I am going to study for a least 2 months before the TEAS!
I spoke with an advisor at the MEC campus and she informed me they accepted everyone too. That was exciting news.

Best of luck to both of you! I just finished up at NVCC - pinning was Tuesday.
Don't stress too much over the TEAS. Seriously, they really are a lot like the placement exams. Your GPA shows that you are capable of doing well.
Congrats!!! @copacetic I cannot wait to say I am graduating! I really needed to read your post.

Hello everyone
I just sent in my application for the LPN to RN program. The waiting is killing me...
I would spend lots of time preparing TEAS and give yourself an extra time; you could only retake it after one month, so do it well before the applicatin due date.
I also did hear about last year's nursing acceptance rate. Since many others are confirming it, I guess it is true.
I know a lot of my science classmates were applying for the RN program but I wonder if anyone is applying for the LPN to RN route.
Well, good luck everyone
