I am currently taking A&P 1 through straighterline. Has anyone taken or completed A&P through straighterline? I find the quizzes to be OK due to the fact that they are open book. The material is so dense and I find myself using majority of my time looking up the answers. I am afraid I am going to get to my final exam, which is not open book, and just ruin my grade. Does anyone have any tips or feedback on the final exam? Straighterline does not have a good study guide or lecture really. The material is heavy, and it is very difficult to know what what to study. Can anyone help?

straighterline is go at your own pace. I have a “prerequisites progress thread” where I recounted my journey through straighterline classes. Now mind you, I’m a bit zippier than most, but to read what I did. It is possible to do it FAST if that’s all you live and breathe. The lab portion involves an involved pig dissection. Very interesting.
Did you complete any of the lessons/practice assignments in Straighterline or just read the book/take the quizzes? Also how long did it take you to complete the anatomy 1 and 2 labs? Were you working while completing these classes?

I just read the books and rolled. But that’s me.
the labs were quick. I did the dissection of the pig all in one day. Took a few more days to fill out my documents and edit my photos for clarity (take lots of photos.) did the eye and heart another day. The longest labs I did were for microbio but they were actually fun. I bought a large dry bath off eBay missing the aluminum blocks for cheap and filled it with copper BB’s to grow my plates in.

Thank you!! I have to complete Anatomy 1/2 and the labs and nutrition by January while working full time so you've helped me feel less stressed about it all!

I got it over the weekend! Didn't realize I was getting a fetal pig/brain/etc until I opened the box so that was a nice surprise. Did you complete multiple labs in one day like you did with the anatomy quizzes?

I very carefully followed all the dissection instructions to the letter and took multiple of each required photo so I could dispose of that disgusting pig right away. They I filled out each lab and submitted. Took a few days to have everything in order. Microbio takes much longer because you have to grow cultures. A&P is pretty quick.

How long did it take you to complete all of the labs? Did you only take A&P (and lab) I or did you complete II as well?

I did both using the combo kit. Did all my dissection in one day’s time, took a few days to organize all my paperwork, photos, and answer questions.

Thank you for your responses! Do you have any suggestions for studying for the A&P midterm? I saw that people collectively agree that the final was easier than the quizzes but I haven't read much about the midterm. Is it open book as well?

Only the final is closed book.
‘’honestly, it’s been a while since I took it, but I remember having to read FAST. So review your stuff beforehand.

It isn't fun when you are responsible for their care and there are a multitude of healthcare problems presenting in your many patients. This is where the rubber meets the road. We don't have all the monitors, hourly lab tests, assessment equipment and residents physically available. Can you elaborate on your experience if this indeed was fun in your experience? Or is your philosophy in caring with these patients (if you were just making a joke)

Did anyone else have trouble with labs loading? If so, any quick fixes you'd suggest? It is really frustrating how often they get stuck in a loading loop. Note that refreshing the page doesn't seem to work.
