Members are discussing their experiences with the proctored finals and labs in an accelerated nursing program, sharing tips on how to approach exams and complete labs efficiently. They also provide advice on ordering lab kits and managing time while working full-time. Additionally, there are questions about studying for midterms and finals, with clarification that only the final exam is closed book.
I am currently taking A&P 1 through straighterline. Has anyone taken or completed A&P through straighterline? I find the quizzes to be OK due to the fact that they are open book. The material is so dense and I find myself using majority of my time looking up the answers. I am afraid I am going to get to my final exam, which is not open book, and just ruin my grade. Does anyone have any tips or feedback on the final exam? Straighterline does not have a good study guide or lecture really. The material is heavy, and it is very difficult to know what what to study. Can anyone help?

@damiorifice do you feel that you gained a sufficient amount of knowledge needed for your ABSN program through taking Straighterline pre-reqs? I am currently taking A&P1 and need to complete the lab, A&P2 with lab, Micro, and Nutrition. I am 4 months in and only halfway finished with the A&P1 (97% grade and plan to retake quizzes to increase to 100% before final) course because I worry that I will not be prepared for the ABSN program I have been accepted to that begins January '22. I need to complete all courses by end of OCTOBER to be eligible for scholarships so I am basically going to have to quadruple my pace!
You seem incredibly helpful! Would you be willing to share the most pertinent subjects of the Straighterline courses that need to be retained in order to succeed in an ABSN program?

A&P and Microbio will make Pathophysiology much easier which is the single most important class IMO. I was incredibly well prepared. But I read all books cover to cover.

To answer your question, the classes take as long as you allow them to take because you decide how much you do at one time. I completed all of the tests in my anatomy class in 2 days and took my final 72 hours after that for a total of 5 days.
Are there any study guides? How many questions are the quizzes midterm and final?

I’m doing an lvn to RN program; the preqs r a formality at this point. I've already taken a and p within my accelerated lvn program but I need the class for college credit
Responding as a whole...
I already had A&P so I only took Chemistry. I don't recommend quizlet answers to the 69% exams. I recommend actually reading and familiarizing yourself with the content. Granted, MOST proctored CLOSED book exams are like 60 questions. Even if you clicked through it with no intention of answering correctly, which I did for my Chem final (answered in 13 min), your average final could be around 25-36%.
Chamberlain requests an 80% IF you don't score an 80% or higher on the HESI. I scored in the high 90s due to taking a Chem class but it didn't have the lab so I needed to do Straighterline. They were willing to take a 70% if I had scored that low which I didn't.
All in all... The finals in ALL classes can be brutal because they expect people to "Google" the answers to the open book questions. But once in the nursing program, if you don't have a grasp of the knowledge, it will eat you alive. Especially when you get to Med Surge.

Glad it worked out! Everything goes so fast when your program actually starts. It’s a blur.
