Members are discussing their experiences with the proctored finals and labs in an accelerated nursing program, sharing tips on how to approach exams and complete labs efficiently. They also provide advice on ordering lab kits and managing time while working full-time. Additionally, there are questions about studying for midterms and finals, with clarification that only the final exam is closed book.
I am currently taking A&P 1 through straighterline. Has anyone taken or completed A&P through straighterline? I find the quizzes to be OK due to the fact that they are open book. The material is so dense and I find myself using majority of my time looking up the answers. I am afraid I am going to get to my final exam, which is not open book, and just ruin my grade. Does anyone have any tips or feedback on the final exam? Straighterline does not have a good study guide or lecture really. The material is heavy, and it is very difficult to know what what to study. Can anyone help?

I found it easier than the tests up to that point. Proctor just asks to see the room, know where your cell phone is, etc. pretty simple process. Give yourself 15 minutes before your scheduled time to work out tech issues. I’ve never had a final start on time, but they give you the whole window once it starts. You won’t need it.

Somewhere, I think in this thread or in my prerequisite progress thread, I posted a pretty verbose description of my experience with the final. It’s not that bad.

I apologize, I'm jumping in months later... Just wanted to know what I'm getting myself into... I took CHEM without lab at my CC and it was easy. Looking to retake it with a Lab as it's needed for my nursing program.
With that said. Are the science class quizzes proctored or done on lockdown browser with Webcam? Or is it just the finals for the lecture part?

With straighterline the didactic portion is 70% open book tests that are quite difficult. 30% of your grade is a closed book proctored final with a real person. The labs are not proctored and are open book but require you to do experiments, dissections, etc. and post your photos.
It is a tedious but thorough option. Great money saver, but not easy by any means.
make sure your university takes Straighterline first.
Alverno DEMSN doesn’t require a lab for Chem. Food for thought.

Thanks for that info. Chamberlain bridge wants CHEM with a lab and that's the only GE I needed. Thanks for the breakdown of how you felt the easiness or hardness of the class/chapters were.

I’m glad I could help. They may have switched textbooks since my time, but the content is the same. Chemistry hasn’t changed.
My first semester had been great! I hope for you success!

My suggestion is to make sure your school will accept the credits you earn from straighterline. To answer your question, the classes take as long as you allow them to take because you decide how much you do at one time. I completed all of the tests in my anatomy class in 2 days and took my final 72 hours after that for a total of 5 days.
