Hi everyone! I am applying to Stony Brook's ABSN and wanted to create this thread for anyone who wanted to share stats, updates or need assistance!

Hi guys!
I applied to the program, but never received an invitation for interview… has there been people who got accepted without interviews, or am I just hanging on to dead hope? ?
I emailed the admission office a week or so ago, and they said decisions should be out this month (Jan)

As far as I know there’s no more interviews and no one gets in without an interview ;(

Does anyone know the tuition of any of these schools? (for the accelerated nursing program) The websites are not very helpful with stating the tuition. Stonybrook is approx $25,000 correct?

I believe you're right about Stony Brook. I actually got rejected from Stony Brook last year but accepted to Molloy and Adelphi. Molloy's tuition is approximately $17,000-$20,000 per semester for 5 semesters, so it ends up being approximately $100k for the entire program. Adelphi's tuition is also $100k for the whole program, but they offer scholarships for their accelerated matriculants!

Last year at this time decisions were out already, so I think they'll probably come out either like today or Monday. I don't think they accept anyone without an interview, but that doesn't mean you cannot get into another awesome program (trust me!). Where else did you apply? Don't give up on nursing just yet, there are plenty of accelerated programs like Molloy and Adelphi that are great! Adelphi's program runs the same time as Stony Brook's too (1 year from June - May).

I’m so nervous. Stony is my top choice but I’m afraid my GPA isn’t competitive enough. Just feeling a bit nervous about not getting into any programs. And I really don’t want to spend like 100K for a nursing degree because I plan to pursue my masters eventually.

I hope we hear back Monday the latest so I can plan out my life. 7 weeks should be more than enough time for them to go through everyones profile and make a decision ?

Agreed! I kind of just accepted that I will (unfortunately) be in debt. It will all be worth it one day. Did you apply to the 2 year program as well?
No I didn’t, but I’m going to start looking into 2 year programs now as a backup. When is the deadline for stonys?

That deadline was earlier in January. I’m starting to really get antsy and sick of waiting for the ABSN decisions. It’s so affordable and a great school. I didn’t even apply anywhere else because I’m so set on going there, which definitely may backfire.
Well I hope you get in ! : ) we should be finally finding out sometime next week.
Just curious but what is everyone’s opinion on what is considered a “ competitive GPA” I feel like it’s 3.7 +
