Hi everyone! I am applying to Stony Brook's ABSN and wanted to create this thread for anyone who wanted to share stats, updates or need assistance!

I got accepted to another program and I'm currently going through the orientation process and registration for classes and clinical starts in about 2-3 weeks, and classes start January 19th. Anyone in the same position? I feel like I'm going through the motions with everyone else and really hoping for Stony. Kind of freaking out bc what if we don't find out until the day before classes start somewhere else if we get in..... what do we do ?!
Hi! I actually am currently enrolled in Molloy's accelerated nursing program but I really want to go to Stony Brook - I got rejected last year, but I figured I'd try again now that my GPA is higher and my prerequisites are completed. I would say continue with the process of enrolling in the other program, but push off your tuition as long as you can without penalty. If you get into Stony Brook, then I would just ditch the other program (unless you end up loving it!). I am anxiously awaiting hearing back if I get an interview this time. Fingers crossed for us!!

Although I really wanted to go to Stony Brook, I decided to proceed with the University of Miami ABSN program. I start January 18th! I wouldn't want to give up my spot and then get denied by Stony Brook.

I also applied to NYU, pace, Adelphi, and Molloy! My undergrad GPA is a 3.61 with a prerequisite GPA of around 3.7/3.8! Stonybrook is my top choice though
Hey! I am currently enrolled in Molloy's ABSN program actually, but I am reapplying to Stony Brook. It has an awesome reputation, it's just so much longer and more expensive than Stony Brook! Wishing you the best of luck and congratulations on Fairfield!

I haven’t heard back from Molloy yet for next fall but it’s not really a top choice due to the length. I prefer a Summer start! I put down a deposit for Fairfield, but am holding out for stonybrook

Thank you ! Happy to know I'm not alone. I spoke with one of the nurses I work with and she said she was in a similar position (she registered with a different school and once she was accepted to the school she wanted, she went there instead). I'm going to continue registering with Mercy in the meantime (all the castle branch requirements are due 12/10 wayyyyy before Stony will send decisions) and if I get into Stonybrook, I'm definitely going to switch. The program costs a third of Mercy and would save me 6 months. I'm hopeful that you'll get in this time around ! Fingers definitely crossed !! I have a feeling we'll hear something tomorrow/ this week... maybe its just wishful thinking LOL

Yea, I understand your decision. I think that's more difficult to navigate bc they are two different states and if you had to move for either program finding out the week before classes start would be less then ideal.

Last year I applied to Molloy, Adelphi, Binghamton, and Stony Brook. I got into Molloy and Adelphi, got waitlisted at Binghamton, and rejected from Stony Brook (hence why I am at Molloy). This year I only reapplied to Stony Brook and only the one-year program.

Why did you decide not to go to Adelphi? I applied and currently waiting to hear back.

At the time I thought it was going to be too expensive. Molloy originally told me the program was 2 years and would be $30,000/year, which would be $60k, whereas Adelphi's program is $100k. I also heard that Molloy had a great reputation and that their graduates got job offers very quickly, but I'm sure Adelphi is great too!

I didn't know Adelphi was that expensive for the program?? I am currently finishing their application.

Hey! Has anyone heard about an interview? Apparently the 2022 cohort heard around this time last year. I called admissions and the woman told me that decisions will be sent out by early January.
