Hey everyone! I'm in the middle of my prerequisites for the nursing program at Stony to apply for admission next fall! Just wanted to reach out and say hey to anyone else in the same shoes! Where else are you all applying?
SBU is obviously my first choice, but I'm also applying to NYU, Adelphi, Molloy, I might apply to York and Lehman, and I might apply to LIU Brooklyn. I would apply to Hunter, but I don't want to transfer for the spring only to be waitlisted (or rejected!) for one of their 100 seats.
sstephanie3 , you really don't like Adelphi's program? I have a friend that just got in and she seems to like it. But yeah I live in Bohemia, NY and commuting all the time to that school and the cost of tuition I didn't even think about applying there. I am trying to keep my student loans at a minimum since I already have about 40k in them right now.
Has anyone heard when we should be getting an email about whether or not you got an interview?
hahaha ugh yeah I think I'd rather get my Associates in Nursing at Suffolk Community College than do the Associates to BSN program at Stony Brook than apply to Adelphi. My professor says thats its easier to get into his program for people that have their Associates and want to get their Bachelor in Nursing.
Didn't even realize it's the 27th! We have to be hearing soon I hope!
Hey everyone,
I just got an email yesterday to schedule an interview but I'm going to pass since I was already accepted to the accelerated program. I went on an interview for that back in October and im assuming the process is going to be very similar.. If you're wondering what the process is like.. it's a pannel interview with 2-5 other applicands and like 6 faclulty members. Its about an hour long and they just ask you questions in no specific order. I'm not going to tell you what questions they asked because I don't think thats fair, but if were you I would just study nursing interview questions and respsonses, and make sure you know things about Stony Brook and also know what your good qualities are, etc. They asked me some basic questions, and also a few bizare questions that really had me thinking at the last minute on a good answer ( I think they do it on purpose lol). And definitely be prepared to ask a question at the end. I think thats really important!
There is also a math and writing test. Its not hard.
