Hey everyone! I'm in the middle of my prerequisites for the nursing program at Stony to apply for admission next fall! Just wanted to reach out and say hey to anyone else in the same shoes! Where else are you all applying?

SBU is obviously my first choice, but I'm also applying to NYU, Adelphi, Molloy, I might apply to York and Lehman, and I might apply to LIU Brooklyn. I would apply to Hunter, but I don't want to transfer for the spring only to be waitlisted (or rejected!) for one of their 100 seats.

is everyone's transcripts marked as received? One of my schools still says not received and I did upload it, wondering if they are still going through them.

-- same thing happened to me till I emailed HSC and they said that my SOLAR was updated, so I checked and they said they received everything. Double check and email them

does anyone know any updated info of when were suppose to get notified if we were accepted or not? i thought we were suppose to hear in feb

I am in the Introduction to Nursing class now at Stony Brook and my professor is on the admissions team:nailbiting: but he said that there will be 180 students interviewed but I got an email saying by Feb 27th they say everything will be posted to Solar -- which I think they mean that stuff that hasn't been received should all be received and than they will start making a decision I hope! I just want to know already

Oh man everything is already posted to my solar but I'm worried about the interviews.. Shouldn't they have called us by now?

I know all my stuff has been posted for a while but I almost had a heart attack when I got an email by them saying that processing should be done on the 27th, I thought it was their decision. I've been wanting to ask in class but he hasn't talked about the application process yet, only about the benefits of becoming a Nurse. I am dying to find out!

Do you think that means that on the 27th they start to email

for interviews? if thats the case we wont know until like April I would think.

Ugh I didn't even know they were doing interviews .. I think it might mean they'll let us know from the 27th because they sent out an email that our documents would be posted by the 17 or whatever

this wait is a killer. I have class Thursday with that professor whose on the admissions board for the nursing program and I am dying to ask him about when we will hear back. Have any of you taken Introduction to Nursing class yet? We had a speaker last week who was a monk for 10 years and than left to work for IBM and pretty much made his way to the top and traveled so much but than he thought about his brotherhood and faith and how he met a nurse that always stayed with him that at age 40 he became graduated from Stony brooks program in 2010 and now is in the grad program to be a Nurse Practitioner. Literally the best guest speaker and he even started tearing up when he talked about his patients, I tried so hard not to let my tears fall :(

But I definitely think that after February 27th and beginning of April we should here back. I've heard in the past that there SOLAR account changed where they had things on their "To Do List" to do which was to "accept/decline" being in the Nursing Program and they got an email as well. I wonder since its the first year they are starting to do Interviews, if we will just get an email only.

So nerve wrecking :no:

i really hope we hear from them like asap. i haven't taken the intro to nursing yet either, im still a bio major at my school so i'm still taking classes that fulfill my bio requirements just in case i don't accepted anywhere lol. I heard they were giving a placement exam also, and if thats the case i better start brushing up my math skills because i havent taken math since 2011 lolol... if your professor is nice, try to get some info outta him!!! l

Gotcha definitely keep doing what your doing. i am at stony brook now but for my bachelors for health science because i am thinking of a back up plan in case i do not get into Stony brooks program. i dont want to apply to adelphi or nyu because there so expensive and far from me! Stony brook is the perfect school and reasonably priced for tuition.
