Stony Brook U Nursing Basic BSN Fall 2014 Applicants!

Hey everyone! I'm in the middle of my prerequisites for the nursing program at Stony to apply for admission next fall! Just wanted to reach out and say hey to anyone else in the same shoes! Where else are you all applying?

SBU is obviously my first choice, but I'm also applying to NYU, Adelphi, Molloy, I might apply to York and Lehman, and I might apply to LIU Brooklyn. I would apply to Hunter, but I don't want to transfer for the spring only to be waitlisted (or rejected!) for one of their 100 seats.

It's crazy that some of us haven't heard anything at all yet, beyond stressful I'd rather know just so I can move to my plan B and get things going.

I just had a friend tell me she's on the alternate list, do you think there done with acceptances?

Speaking from last years one year class they placed people on the alternate list before they were done with acceptances so you never know!! Keep up hope! And A LOT of people got accepted from the alternate list last year so an alternate is not a bad thing!

I really hope not......It was the only school I applied to. I already started researching my options if I do not get in, I may just have to pay the high tuition and apply elsewhere:down:

I reviewed the posts of last years applicants and the acceptance letters come in waves. At one point the acceptance letters stopped for about two weeks and then resumed. I am feeling hopeful.....

Orientation won't be until the Thursday & Friday before the semester starts (i.e. at the very end of

August.)

During orientation they go over your schedule, which books you need, you learn stuff about the hospital & about the university. You get your student IDs too. You take a hospital tour. You meet you classmates and some of your professors.
