Stony Brook U Nursing Basic BSN Fall 2014 Applicants!

Hey everyone! I'm in the middle of my prerequisites for the nursing program at Stony to apply for admission next fall! Just wanted to reach out and say hey to anyone else in the same shoes! Where else are you all applying?

SBU is obviously my first choice, but I'm also applying to NYU, Adelphi, Molloy, I might apply to York and Lehman, and I might apply to LIU Brooklyn. I would apply to Hunter, but I don't want to transfer for the spring only to be waitlisted (or rejected!) for one of their 100 seats.

Just found this site, although it helps people receive good information.. For someone like me it's nerve wracking to see people getting accepted and I still haven't heard anything is scary!!! Congrats to those who have made it so far! I had my interview at the end of march...I guess as of right now I'll go by the saying "no news is good news". Does anyone think all the acceptances were sent out already or do you think they still have more to send? I hate checking my email 100x a day

I am in the same boat as you, I interviewed at the end of March as well. Also have no idea if all the acceptances have been sent out yet. Apparently someone got a rejection letter today, so I guess we wont know for sure until we get a letter either way. I am hoping for the best, but expecting the worst....

I got rejected as well PauPau. Looks like i will be getting my bachelors in health science next spring and apply to both the 1 yr program and the two year again. I was thinking of looking at Farmingdale as well because I do not want to be in anymore debt :(

I am sorry to hear :( do apply to farmingdale though and don't give up!! If you don't mind me asking, did you have an interview and get rejected or did you not have an interview? The only reason I ask is because I want to see if they started doing rejections for people with interviews since I had an interview. Thanks!

thank you im definitely not giving up. i had a feeling i wouldnt get in because i had no volunteering or experience, just a 3.9 gpa. so grades definitely dont matter. so this summer i plan on volunteering and get my resume to be better. and no i didnt have an interview either

Definitely volunteer and get the experience! It will help, everything happens for a reason too! It sucks now but maybe there was a reason you didn't get it this time around!

True, I never believed the whole 'Everything happens for a reason' until now, I was rejected out of High school from SBU even though I had the grades 3.7gpa. So, I went to Community College, probably saved a lot of money and here I am now going to SBU. : ) Don't lose hope !

I am also waiting. Had interview on March 27th. No news is good news since rejections and alternate letters are going out too. Still hoping.

I think the last 2 people on here who got rejections also never got an interview so I don't think people who got interviews got rejections yet which is freaking me out.. So stressful!
