Hey everyone! I'm in the middle of my prerequisites for the nursing program at Stony to apply for admission next fall! Just wanted to reach out and say hey to anyone else in the same shoes! Where else are you all applying?
SBU is obviously my first choice, but I'm also applying to NYU, Adelphi, Molloy, I might apply to York and Lehman, and I might apply to LIU Brooklyn. I would apply to Hunter, but I don't want to transfer for the spring only to be waitlisted (or rejected!) for one of their 100 seats.
I am scared to find out as well, but I REALLY want this suspense to be over so I can plan my year. I only applied to SBU since I only have the prereqs for their program. Many other schools that have reasonable tuition are nearly impossible to get into, they require a 4.0 GPA in all the science prereqs. In my opinion that is not fair because a GPA does not reflect the entire picture of personal qualities, it just means that the person is a good student and test taker. I am glad that SBU interviews people, I think that an interview offers better insight on the personality of the person and if they are cut out to be a nurse.
@jenster3 I'm not really sure what the prereqs are but I think they are online!
And I have a friend who works as a receptionist at SON and she said Lisa Lent confirmed that they will be sending out letters this week. She also said that the letters will be sent out in waves, which is different from last year. But for sure, rejection letters come first because they don't want people getting rejected waiting around

I'm glad they're sending out the rejections first. It was absolute torture waiting around for the rejection from the accelerated program.

@oesoj - Nope I'm taking micro at SCCC. I've taken my 5 sciences there over the past 2 years..I already have a bachelors degree so it's the most cost effective option for me.
