Hello guys~ I m going to apply Stony brook nursing for 2015 Fall.
Is there anyone also applying?
I want to share information ^^
@sarolarn2b - I agree! We already have bachelor's degrees at the least, and would like to get the ball rolling! By what i've seen with your credentials, i'd assume you'd have a really strong chance at getting in! My Biology GPA is not so great at all, since there were a few unfortunate mishaps along the way. (I hate how extra-unecessary DEC classes also add into your overall Bachelor's GPA) But, the pre-requisites are all As and Bs. I wish we could go back in time and start with a BS in Nursing from the beginning.
@joyful_j - Thanks so much for the positive vibes and encouragement! Would be wonderful if everyone had the opportunity to receive an interview. Did you receive a phone call along with the email?
Good luck guys. You all seem amazing! :)
I got called for an interview for the accelerated program as well and they sent out interview requests over a period of a few days so those of you that haven't hear yet...don't get discouraged. i am on the wait list there now for the one year :-( hoping I get into one program or another!
Current 2 year student here in the first semester. SBU doesnt only look at grades (there are people in my class with very diverse GPAs, ranging from 3.2 to 4.0). Anymore questions, i can help. Good luck guys!
Hello! I have a few questions about what your interview process was like:
1. I know it is a group interview, but was there any time where the applicants meet the faculty individually?
2. What were some of the questions they asked you?
3. How long was the math and short answer questions?
4. On what topic were the short answer questions?
I appreciate your time and effort to answer my questions!
Congratulations to all who got an interview. I was curious if any veterans had received an interview. I applied on 12/25/14 when all my references were complete. I had heard that Stony brook interviews the veterans to bsn separately, as part of the grant they received from the government. This is my first year applying I have a 4.0 gpa on all science pre eqs and a 3.9 on all the other requirements. I am getting discouraged as well since I did not receive a email for an interview. Any other veterans who applied did you receive an interview.

Still no word here, either.
I'm nervous and feel like I don't stand a chance..
Would you guys suggest earning your associates and RN at Suffolk Community College, and then finishing with the BSN at Stony Brook, or completing that online? I've read that most online bridge programs can be done in as little as a year. Does anyone know how much time it would take on-site at Stony?
