Stony Brook Basic BSN Fall 2012

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello everyone!

I applied to Stony Brook's Basic (2-year) BSN program 3 weeks a go and thought it may be helpful to start up a forum.

If you are:

currently applying or plan on applying, a former applicant, a current SBU student, I'd love to hear from you!

Has everyone finished their perquisites? Does anyone else have a not so competitive GPA (like me)? Does anyone know who is considered a competitive applicant? Where is everyone else applying?

I look forward to speaking with everyone and hopefully entering the Fall '12 class together!

I heard from admissions that our schedules will be handeled at orientation. I think the schedules are pretty regimented so they sit there with us and sign us up for what we need. Then the coordiantor said they will discuss malpratice insurance at orientation but if i wanted to go ahead and do it now, those are the types of insurances they accept. I think im gonna wait till after orientation to purchase though . cause i dont know what type, or how long i should get it for, whats the best prices, etc so yea hope that helps :)

I called and they were in the middle of the orientation when I called and they said its on solar...I combed through solar I haven't seen them!!!! Is anyone taking the school health insurance???? I have to take it because I have none at this point...I have to pay out of pocket for titers and physical ...FUN lol

Hi all, this is how you download the medical forms. Go to Stony Brook University Student Health Services and on the right hand side the 6th box down there is a box that says forms. All the different forms for physicals and health records are here. Hope this is what you are looking for. Paula:)

I believe that you just bring the immunization form to your doctor and they fill out your immunization records and attach copies of titers that have been done and you send it in to Stony Brook.

Hi all, also, don't forget to look at the "advanced registration" page. They want you to pregregister for a "class".

"To enroll in the temporary 12 credit course: If you accepted the offer of admission to the School of Nursing, enroll in:

HNI 498, section 01, 12 credits"

You don't have to get titers re-done. Your previous ones are good enough BioD.....

Thanks ashe! Where is advanced registration ? Anyone look into the parking permits?

Your welcome:) I couldn't find advance registration either but I did find the class. If you go into class enrollment and search for the class number it comes up. Haven't looked into parking yet.

Oh and do we go to school all year round or fall/spring

It says "this class number is not valid for this term"

I put in term fall 2012 class section HN1 and class number 498

Here are the fields that have to be filled out when you go to class search.......department-school of nursing course subject-HN1 course number-498 course career-undergraduate
