Stony Brook Basic BSN class of 2020

Published

Nursing Application has now opened for the Basic BSN fall 2018 program. I will be submitting my application Sept 1. I noticed there was no forum so I decided to start one... Good Luck to everyone that is applying. It is a bit early but it doesn't hurt to communicate with everyone. Has everyone finished all their pre-reqs?

Did anyone also apply to the accelerated program for Stony Brook? I was wondering if you can still apply without a B.A or B.S?

GroupMe here's the link to the GroupMe page :) figured we can all chat and introduce ourselves!

I am on the alternate list :o Is anyone else on that list? Does anyone know how many are there and what is the difference between an alternate list and a waitlist?

Congrats on your acceptances! Would you guys mind sharing your GPA's and extra experiences? I'm interested in applying to the SBU program but I'm worried my GPA will limit my chances. Thanks again!

Hi, hope i am not being a bother but do you mind sharing your experice applying to SBU? Who did you receive your recommendation letters from? Your GPA?

Hi there! I am also on the alternate list. Have you heard anything or gotten any information on the alternate list ?

Hi everyone. I just received my interview date for this year's application.  I did not know that there was a math portion to the interview.  Would anyone be able to give me some insight on if the math is multiple choice or fill-in? and how in-depth with the algebra they get. I know we aren't allowed, calculators.

Hey there! Congrats on your interview! It's basic algebra, on paper, no multiple choice. I think it was 2 sided. You also have to do a writing sample, the directions list specific requirements, make sure you include every one! Bring your own pencil

Would anyone be able to describe their idea of basic algebra? Because I'm on stony brooks site and taking their practice exams for algebra and there is nothing basic about this. #SOS ???‍♀️

It's been a few years but I pretty sure at its most complicated it's division and multiplications of decimals and fractions, I watched a few YouTube videos to freshen up and spent max an hour doing practice problems and I felt prepared

That makes me feel a bit more relaxed. Thank you so much. Perhaps the practice math exams I'm looking at have to be for some other degree. I mean the practice exam is asking me to find the x intercept of a line ... etc.

thank you again ??
