Stony Brook Basic BSN class of 2020

Nursing Application has now opened for the Basic BSN fall 2018 program. I will be submitting my application Sept 1. I noticed there was no forum so I decided to start one... Good Luck to everyone that is applying. It is a bit early but it doesn't hurt to communicate with everyone. Has everyone finished all their pre-reqs?

Are you able to join the facebook group without a stony brook email? The page i seen asked for it or cannot join group and Im not sure I have on yet

Hey guys, so i just made up a page but i really don't know how to use Facebook. I haven't used it in like five years and I'm 27 lol but anyways try searching for the page, it's under stony brook basic baccalaureate nursing program class of 2020. Let me know if there's any issues.

Maybe the name can be spelled out fully in the current group like @Michelle_Ioa did... I think you might've created a page instead of a group account, but I'm not positive. I've never made a group page either lol! I feel like the abbreviations are confusing for people wanting to do a quick search. I feel like Stony Brook University Nursing School Basic Baccalaureate Program Class of 2020 would be easier for everyone. It's long, but people that aren't on this website will be able to find the page easier since they most likely won't be typing abbreviations.

I got in!!!!!! It will be so exciting to see you all in the fall!!! Congratulations to all - and even if you did not get into Stony Brook, please remember that Long Island is rife with amazing nursing programs that will prepare you just as well. We are lucky to live in a place that has several amazing options for this kind of career... don't give up hope. You will excel no matter what.

Anem0ne.... how did you find out about your acceptance?

Did they email you? Were you given a Solar Account?

I checked SOLAR, I'm already a student at Stony Brook. If you do not have an account on SOLAR, I would suggest maybe calling up Admissions and asking them to help you figure out how you can view your acceptance status! They've been able to tell me my SOLAR ID before if I've forgotten the number for it. Therefore, if you have one, they'll be able to tell you.

Also, I know there's a FB group up, but I don't have/want a Facebook lol. However I'd love to get to know you guys! Would anyone be opposed to starting a GroupMe chat as well when we meet each other for orientation? It's what the Health Science major tends to use to communicate with each other and you don't have to sign up for anything. :)

Hey everyone, congratulations on getting accepted!! I can't wait to meet you all at orientation. I just joined the Facebook group, although I'm not very active on it. A Group me is a great idea as well, and I would love to be a part of it!

@utsava, yes, you must respond within 10 days I believe! But that may be within 10 days of viewing the acceptance on SOLAR? I'm not sure.

I really, really encourage you guys to call Admissions if you haven't received an email, they might be able to help and they're very kind/patient!

Also, has anyone got any info about when orientation is?
