Stony Brook Basic BSN class of 2020

Nursing Application has now opened for the Basic BSN fall 2018 program. I will be submitting my application Sept 1. I noticed there was no forum so I decided to start one... Good Luck to everyone that is applying. It is a bit early but it doesn't hurt to communicate with everyone. Has everyone finished all their pre-reqs?

Hey guys, so i just got off the phone with admissions and explained that I have acceptances that need a response ASAP but nothing from stony yet... They said they are not sending out letters until the LAST week of April. I really don't know what to do. I have acceptance from another school but Stony is my top choice since I'm already a student here... I dont have the money to waste on a tuition deposit for a school I might not go to just because I'm waiting on Stony Brook.

I can relate to your situation I'm in the same boat. I want stony brook, however, I do not want to lose another opportunity elsewhere. This stinks!!!!!

What I did with Adelphi is deferred my acceptance to another semester. I would call and ask about that and maybe consider doing that if you really want to go to Stony Brook. It sucks, but if it's something you really want you have to take some chances!

You called again and that's what they said? Itd be awfully nice if they could agree on when its being sent out so I don't have a heart attack every time I talk to them...

When did you go for your interview and what date did they tell you? Because i went on the first day and they personally told all of us it would be late March- early April. Judging from past forums it seems like April 18th was the date they emailed acceptance letters. So I'm telling myself is that day.

I went the second day and also was told late march, worst case first week of April... But the problem stemmed from my conversation with them yesterday, when a member of the admissions office stated it would be the end of april, potentially the last week. I repeated her to make sure i heard right because I was told a completely different time (late march) by my interviewers, but she said again end of April. Thats why I'm confused.

Maybe they are just saying the last week of April to give themselves time so people aren't calling them questioning where their letter is?? That is what I am thinking!

I wish they would let us know already, I have other programs waiting on deposits ughhhh

I had my interview Feb 5 and the interviewers said it'll take 6-8 weeks to hear back and today starts the 6th week! So hopefully we'll find out soon.
