Stony Brook Basic BSN class of 2020

Nursing Application has now opened for the Basic BSN fall 2018 program. I will be submitting my application Sept 1. I noticed there was no forum so I decided to start one... Good Luck to everyone that is applying. It is a bit early but it doesn't hurt to communicate with everyone. Has everyone finished all their pre-reqs?

i havent heard anything. havent interviewed or anything. no rejection or acceptance. im worried

Hey there, have you already had your interview? As for acceptance and such, we probably arent going to hear back for another 3 to 4 weeks. If you havent interviewed at this stage or heard about one then I'm not sure if you will hear back for this round of the program as you must interview to be considered and the interview periods over as far as I heard. :( sorry.

Unfortunately, if you did not get an invitation on January 18th for an interview, then you will not get in. They already interviewed all 180 applicants for this round. sorry

I was told at my interview 4-5 weeks after we interviewed should hear back

I think youre incorrect. i just reached out to them to confirm. i was told interviews are ongoing and can even last til the first day of class. final decisions are made in april

everyone who has interviewed received an invitation email on January 18th

I had my interview in February and was told then that they already sent out all 180 interview invitations. you can call them and ask if you need confirmation and once again I'm sorry

That doesn't make sense for interviews to continue on until the first day of class which begins in August, however, you stated final decisions are in April? which one is it? thanks

i was confused on that too but i called and i emailed and when i called she told me shes not sure about the interviews but that decisions are made by april and then when i emailed them i was told interviews are still ongoing and can go until first day of class. im assuming if an interview occurs after april its because you were waitlisted or soemthing but thats what im hearing from them

ohhhh!! no waitlisted are the applicants that already interviewed in February. They go down the list of waitlisted applicants if they don't receieve the deposits from the first round of accepted students.they interview 180 but there are only 80 seats

Yeah, so, the interviews are still occurring but the invitations to be interviewed have been over for a few weeks. Basically they accept 60-70 of 180 interviewees, and if any of the accepted students decide not to do the program, then they offer it to any of the already interviewed students who were runners up, or waitlisted. Then if no one on the interview waitlist accepts THEN they may call other interviews. But it is very unlikely that all 30-something waitlisted people will say no. :( I'm sorry, but hopefully that clears it up.
