SBU NURSING APPLICANTS FOR FALL 2017

Hey guys! I've decided to start this thread for all applicants. I know it's a bit early but I'm hoping we can all help each other! Last year I applied for the Basic BSN program and was chosen for an interview. Unfortunately, I wasn't selected for the program. I was accepted to SBU and decided to attend this year and take some classes. I've already received my associate degree in Liberal Arts from NCC. Where is everyone transferring from?

Specializes in MICU RN.

Good luck to all with interviews! I have mine coming up in February. SBU is only school I've applied to so far and will surely go if accepted. Very nervous for the interview! I also hope they don't take longer than end of March for admissions decision. Anyone know usually when they release results for acceptance for the Fall start?

Last year people heard back mid/late April I believe!

Last year it was mid-April

does anyone know if they are done with sending out emails for interviews? were there actually any emails sent out after that first wave of emails 2 weeks ago?

For those who are currently in the program, any tips on the interview process? Are the faculty members looking for anything specific in responses?

I was wondering how much the tuition for the program is.Can anyone already in the program please tell us how much it is per year?

thanks in advanceí ½í¸Š

This information can be found on their website. But if I remember correctly it's somewhere around $9500 per semester for in state residents. I do not know about out of state though.

Has anyone previously applied? There is a group interview with several questions, an essay portion, and then math. Unfortunately I didn't do so well on the math. It was basic math: long division, multiplication of larger numbers, fractions, and some word problems. It was simple but if you haven't practiced this kind of math in awhile I would brush up!

hi dani what type of math questions and dosage questions are there? any drip rates? or just basic DAQ and for the essay part what was it like? writing is my weakness.

Good luck to everyone interviewing this week!!

it was just basic math...no drip rates. The essay part wasn't too bad. I think it only had to be a page and the question was simple.

I had my interview this morning and they told us that there had been over 1,000 applicants this year and it seems like all the invitations for interviews have been sent out already. I of course do not speak for the school but that's just how it sounded,

@Anniewilli so you think they sent out another round of interview emails or was the first one back in January the only one you think they're sending?
