Stony Brook Basic BSN Class of 2018

Hey Everyone,

Now that the deadline for the class of 2018 Basic BSN program at Stony Brook University is coming up, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread to and for all applicants. I hope there isn't already a thread made already because I searched thoroughly but could not find one. If you have any questions or just want to talk feel free to comment. Best of luck to all of you on your applications!

It's just a general essay prompt. I recieved my acceptance in around April.

Okay, thank you so much! For the writing sample, is it related to nursing or just general questions? Btw after your interview, how long did you wait before getting your acceptance email?

btw do they tell you in the email that no calculators for math portion?

Yes, the email said to not bring calculators since we're not allowed to use them on the math exam.

Anyone else not receive an e-mail yet? I applied the beginning of January.

Unfortunately, when I went to my interview they told me there were 140 interviews sent out so I don't know if that's final or not :/

Thanks for the heads up. Do they only notify you by e-mail? I got everything in on time and it says Received for everything on SOLAR. Would like an e-mail from them, regardless if it's good news or bad news.

They told me they used email as a primary contact. I don't think they'd call you or send a letter

Gotcha, thanks. Here's hoping that they still have a few more e-mails to send out. SBU is my top choice.

I applied Christmas Eve and received a response Jan 21st

How did your interview go? I'm going on Tuesday and I'm so nervous! Was the math basic?

I also applied last year and didn't hear anything. I guess that's it.... I'm moving on to the next application!! I'm not dwelling

Yea the interview went well it's really easy and the math was even easier it was the basics of the basics like 4th grade math
