Stony Brook Basic BSN Class of 2018

Published

Hey Everyone,

Now that the deadline for the class of 2018 Basic BSN program at Stony Brook University is coming up, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread to and for all applicants. I hope there isn't already a thread made already because I searched thoroughly but could not find one. If you have any questions or just want to talk feel free to comment. Best of luck to all of you on your applications!

I didn't receive an interview yet either.. I've been checking my emails obsessively. I handed everything in on time also. So hopefully they still have more to send out. I submitted my application a few days before the deadline. How about you?

I also submitted mine a few days before the deadline but know that everything got in on time.

Hi everyone!!! Congrats on making it to the rounds of interviews. Are the interviews over? I had mine one the 9th, it went pretty well (awesome group of students and the writing/math wasnt bad) Hopefully we all see each other in the future... Did anyone else apply to Binghampton? SBU is my number 1 choice but it's always good to have a plan B.

I was going to apply to Binghamton but I never got around to finishing the application. Fingers-crossed I won't regret that decision because Stony Brook is by far my number 1 choice!

I have no back-up plan. Stony Brook is the only school I applied to. I figured if I don't get in, I'll apply to the accelerated program in the fall (graduate the same time - 2018). Most of the other programs would mean I'd have too much down-time (unnecessary classes that I don't have to take).

I was thinking of applying to Binghamton if I didn't get in this year. Next year I will be applying to accelerated programs because I will be a senior.

I too started the application for Binghamton this year, but I never finished it because every time I called the school to ask questions about the application I was given mixed answers. I couldn't even get a straight answer as to whether they had a 2-year program or not! Very frustrating.

I believe Bing's deadline is on March.

I think it's all up to the amount of credits. One might enter the program as a Sophmore or Junior; this is what I've heard don't believe me 100% lol

Lol that seems to be the thing with Binghamton. You won't know what is fact unless you can manage to go to an information session.

Looking at last years thread, I've come to a prediction that some of us will hear back early to mid March.

Last year people didn't get acceptance letters until April 23rd. Idk if I can wait 2 months! When I went for my interview they said about 6-8 weeks and that was on 2/16. I hope it's closer to 6 weeks!
