Stony brook accelerated nursing class of 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Just wanted to start this thread to see if anyone else has applied to the 12 month accelerated nursing program at stony brook!

Super awesome! Congratulations Jayba!

Update: I was told by the Admissions Coordinator that the deposit is due on April 1st. Seems rather far off from now. It'd be great if someone else could confirm this response!

@soydelmonte I got your message but it won't let me respond í ½í¸© One of the drawbacks to being more of a reader than actively commentingí ½í¸• I'll get my comments up and respond soon lol!

Hi All,

Congratulations to all those accepted. I hope all the waitlisted get in as well. I was accepted as well. Im also waiting on Downstate and have an interview this Thursday. I'm leaning towards Stony because of such positive things I've heard and it was always my number 1. Being a city guy though brooklyn would be alot closer to home

Hi everyone! I was accepted but declined the offer. Hopefully that opens up a spot for one of you who were waitlisted. Good luck!

I accepted the admission offer back in December, but am going to call tomorrow to withdraw my acceptance (the office is already closed for the day). It will probably open up a spot for those who are waitlisted.

Thanks Kiyomoon and Paggypork,

I'm hoping I get accepted! I wonder how many of us are on the waitlist.

Paggypork & Kiyomoon - If you don't mind sharing, what school will you be attending for your nursing degree?

My end goal is to become an NP, so besides Stonybrook, I also applied to some direct entry programs. I heard back from Boston College on Wednesday for their direct entry NP. BC gave me some scholarship money. After I calculated it, it is about the same price for me to attend Stonybook vs BC. I haven't decide what school I will be attending yet because I am still waiting to hear back from some. Regardless, since it makes more sense for me to choose BC if it comes down to BC v.s. Stonybrook, I decided to withdraw my acceptance. The admission office confirmed it with me today too, so it is all set. A spot should open up.

How long is BC NP program? Just curious. Congrats on your acceptance!

It is a 2 years program.

Paggypork - congrats on your acceptance to BC & thank you for sharing with us!
