Can we make this the official thread for The Stony Brook Accelerated Nursing Class of 2016. Let's start posting questions and suggestions here.
Man sorry that we're so late. Hey guys, we're currently in SBU Accelerated class of 2015. I wish I was able to help you all out during the application process, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask. We're currently in the midst of studying for pharmacology/psych exam, so I may not get back to you guys as promptly as I'd like. It is bizarre though that they haven't started the interview process. Last year I was in the last rounds of interviews and that was on Nov. 5th. Maybe they're changing things up this year and aren't interviewing as much people, so the need to have as much dates isn't necessary? Wishing you all luck.

Thank GOD!! some sign of life from SBU lol.... thanks for checking in, How are the classes scheduled? ex) do they last for 3-5 weeks and then you move onto another class due to the program being accelerated?
Oh no there are NO classes that are one week long. They changed things around completely for us. So during the summer semester we had Pathology, Fundamentals I and II, Medical Math, online class, Health Assessment. The summer was about 8 weeks, and half way though on the 4th week Fundamentals I switched to Fundamentals II (Both classes were six credits). This Fall it's a bit better. We have Pharmacology, Pediatrics, Med/Surg, Psych, Research and they run for a normal fall semester (August 28th-December 17). It's tough, but if you put in the time, it's manageable.

Do any of you plan to go onto an MSN after your BSN? If so, are you going to apply to SBU again? Whether you get in to their ABSN or not? If I get into another school with a dual BSN/MSN, I'll obviously not apply for SBU's master's. But if I don't, then I'll probably be applying again down the road. Anyone know what they're planning a couple years down the road?
