Stony Brook Accelerated Nursing Class of 2015

Published

It's almost september, which means people are starting to get their applications for nursing together real soon. I'm currently in the 1-yr nursing program here at Stony Brook. A previous alum started the 2014 thread for us, so I figured I do the same. Feel free to ask questions or message me with them. Good luck to everyone applying! :)

Hello, I submitted my application on October 17th and I haven't received a call yet. Best of luck to everyone!

Specializes in ICU / PCU / Telemetry / Oncology.
I am also wondering if anybody applied for the program while finishing their undergrad.?

I think about 40% of my own class consisted of students who had just graduated with their first bachelors degree. It is definitely not uncommon.

I submitted my application on 10/16, and I got a call for an interview just a few minutes ago! :)

Good luck to you meisauce! When is your interview? I submitted mine the same day hopefully they aren't done with calls.. if anyone else receives a call today please let me know!

Good luck meisauce! To those of us who are also applying to the two-year basic baccalaureate program: does anyone know whether we have to create a new account using a different email etc.? I tried to create one with the same email address that I used for my accelerated app, and it said that this would create a duplicate account, "which would make tracking of your application difficult." Thoughts?

ash6117, my interview is going to be this upcoming Monday! Good luck, hope you get an interview :)

Thank you I'm hoping so too! Let me know how it goes

To those of us who have alaready interviewed, did the math assessment have a decent focus on conversions (i.e. lb to kg) or was it mostly fractions, decimals, ratios, percents, etc.?

No conversions that I recall. Practice your long division, multiplying and dividing fractions, decimals, and ratios!

@beestar: there are several people in my class who just graduated from undergrad and went straight into this nursing program. then there are others who havent been in school for years. there's definitely a good mix of people with different amounts of life and education experience, which is what's so great about this program :)

to all those who are still waiting on an interview call: dont be discouraged! remember that an interview call doesn't mean you got accepted. on the flip side, not getting an interview doesn't mean you got rejected. anything goes with stony :p

As far as transcripts did anyone send official transcripts? I sent 2/3 I didn't send from the 3rd school because I was reading that you didn't have to send the official ones just upload the unofficial copy

i think you might as well send it because they will eventually ask for it.
