It's almost september, which means people are starting to get their applications for nursing together real soon. I'm currently in the 1-yr nursing program here at Stony Brook. A previous alum started the 2014 thread for us, so I figured I do the same. Feel free to ask questions or message me with them. Good luck to everyone applying! :)
Hi JessW where did you hear if you don't get an interview we still have a chance of getting in? I hope this is true since I did not get a call yet but find it hard to believe why would they pick somone who wasn't picked for the interview?
Hey Ash6117 I never heard this, I was quoting someone else who said this is what they heard :) I agree with you, find it hard to believe as well. Good luck to you!
Tbellx12, where did you hear this? Has Stony Brook ever interviewed before? Makes me feel a little better..
@JessW, A friend of mine is in the 2-year program and is also a member of the SB Pre-Nursing society, so she hears tidbits of news every now and then; this is where I heard that not being invited for an interview does not mean that you haven't been accepted. This is the first year that Stony Brook is conducting interviews, so the process may be a bit hectic for them. As a reference, I was called today at 1:03 P.M. and was invited to interview Monday morning at 8 AM. I submitted my application (including my recs and everything) on October 8th, so I received the call just over two weeks after applying. Hope this helps, and best of luck to everyone applying!

I had my interview yesterday and I think it went well? It turned out I was a little more tongue-tied and nervous than I thought I'd be, haha! The math was basic but not easy -- as everyone else said, brush up on your fractions, ratios, long division, etc. The faculty members were very kind and welcoming. Now all there is to do is wait...
