Hey all! Just wanted to lend my support to anyone else who is applying to SB next summer! It's a grueling process :-))
Kurt, it's funny you mention being suprised by a rejection, especially since I also attended SJC! I graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology and Statistics (I was focused on research so did my electives in Math) and went on to fulfill my pre-reqs at Suffolk. I graduated at the top of my class and did very well in the pre-reqs. I also want to go into Psychiatric Nursing, which is an extension of my education in psychology. Maybe we just weren't good fits for the program THIS semester. I also applied to the 2-year program as well as Suffolk, Nassau, Molloy and Farmingdale! I really loved St Joseph's and was always impressed with the success of the graduates (especially those who majored in education and found jobs even today when there are hardships) due to the great reputation. I have quite a few friends who were told they would never get jobs and are lucky to be full time teachers in a steady position. It's hard not to be discouraged, but I wish you much success! Any information that you've received about making your application more competitive would be greatly appreciated if you could pass it along!!
And Joie,
I have faith that you'll be successful!! I hope you hear something soon, at least I know I didnt get it and wouldn't want anyone to have to deal with the anxiety!! I know you'll do great!
Wow Dollface you are quite the doll, thank you so much for your kind positive vibes and for sharing with us your story. You have impressive credentials and their decision process is mind boggling. This is what I mean by I HOPE all of our applications are given the same judgement. I guess we will never understand how their admissions committee decides... Again, thank you and good luck in all your future plans in becoming a successful Psychiatric Nurse.
In response to Jennyfur- wowzers all i can say is: you are the type of person that should be in a program like SB's- those are very competitive credentials! Congratulations on all of your hard work and success thus far. Thanks for sharing your background. It allows others to see what they are up against! kudos !

Hi everyone,
I am new to this message board but I have been reading all of your posts for a while now. Unfortunetly, I was not accepted this time around
... Im at a loss for the reason why.. I have a bachelors and a masters degree from St. Joseph's college with a high GPA in both! I have great grades in my pre reqs. I had great references including doctors, employees of stony brook and professors! I was just wondering if anyone accepted would share their credentials ( GPA, previous experience, essay, references, etc. ) I want to try to enhance my application for next year if I need to apply again! I applied to the two year program at SB, as well as suffolk and farmingdale! Let me know :) thank u!
