Stony Brook School of Nursing has recently opened the undergraduate application portal for the 2021 school year. I was part of an allnurses thread for their Basic BSN program last year, and the information and support from other applicants was amazing; so I jumped on creating a thread for this cycle as soon as applications became available.
Any questions or even just casual discussion about the program is more than welcome! Can’t wait to talk to all of you. ?
Did anyone take the BIO 203 BIO 204 and ANP sequence at SBU for undergrad? Did you apply to other ABSN programs? If so, which? I applied to Bing but got waitlisted and NYU which I chose not to attend. It doesn’t seem like other schools accept SBU’s classes for the A&P I and II pre-req requirement so I’m screwed.
HOPEFULLY WE ALL HEAR GOOD NEWS SOON but I’m trying to be practical and think about next steps

I had applied to UTICA before stony and they were so helpful through the application process and made me feel so wanted, I was shocked. They accepted me to the program literally a week after I submitted my app and before making a decision I checked high and low reading reviews and I found NOT ONE good review. everyone said they had the same super warm experience with the application process and that it was a money trap. I personally feel like I can handle a tough program but reading reviews stating "if I could go back and change one thing about my life it would be not going to UTICA" or reviews saying they lost 15k because the program was so unorganized they had had to drop out after the first semester. I just wanted to warn you guys because we all want to be nurses ASAP but sometimes having to apply to a really good program a second time beats choosing a bad program out of haste. Good luck everyone I hope we all get accepted LOL
