Still in shock 8 days later

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I am still in shock and it has been 8 days since I re-took my NCLEX-RN and it has been 6 days since I saw my name on the Utah BON website.....I received my RN license in the mail today and it still doesn't seem real to me!

I worked very hard over the last 10months to get through all of the studying and pass this ridiculous test.......I am living proof and a great example that anything is possible. I graduated with a 3.5 GPA, was on the Dean's List, and had a dozen letters of recommendation from professors......but I couldn't pass my NCLEX-RN until the 4th try! My test anxiety was off the charts and I had to take about 4months off from studying to decompress and get my emotions and anxiety under control before I felt ready to tackle the test one last time!

All I can tell people is to take your time and make sure you are ready before you test....even if that means pushing off you test a little longer....I made the mistake of retaking too soon and I wasn't ready.

My only obstacle now is to find a job in a state where there is a hiring-freeze b/c there are too many nurses......it is already proving to be difficult, as I have already been turned down for 8 RN jobs due to lack of experience!!! Not sure how to get experience if no one will hire me to get the experience.....the stress continues

Good luck to anyone and everyone, it will happen and you will pass!!!!

Thanks so much! Just don't give up..I know it sucks b/c I have been in your shoes, but you can and you WILL get through it! I am hoping to have a job ASAP but we shall see what happens! I never thought there would be too many nurses but apparently there is out here in Utah so who knows...GOOD LUCK!!!

CONGRATS!!!!
