I did say that this was L&D right? We do q30min vitals.... but we have automatic everything and to be honest... I don't think we have a manual BP cuff on the floor. Like I said we have a cheapie stethoscope in every room and that's what I've been using to assess. I think one of the reasons that the hospital puts one in every room is to control infection etc.... I just know that no one on our unit brings their own.....
I work in postpartum/antepartum and I carry my own. My charge nurse borrowed mine the other night (a Littman Classic, I think) and raved about how much better she could hear with it than the cheapies we have lying around everywhere. I hate to think what people are missing if they're using the ones the hospital provides.

Do you carry one? There is only one nurse that works our unit that carries hers. There is usually one in all the LDR's (on the warmer... a cheapie). I usually grap it for admission assessment and if there is any problems... should I be carrying my own?
