hey guys! i am currently a nursing student as a sophmore (i went to a community college for 2 years after highschool to do my gen eds) getting my BSN. Anyway, i currently am trying to get a position as a ER tech at the hospital i currently work for. The techs have their own stethoscopes it seems like but I was looking at stethoscopes and I just dont know which to get.

Everything I read says get a littmann cardiology III. Should I get one like that now or wait until I am an actual nurse haha?

Also which color would you get? i dont really want just plain black but i dont want to seem like the 20year old with the crazy colors who doesnt look like i cant be taken seriously.

In nursing school I used the Littmann Classic II SE in navy blue. It was a good steth for school. However, after graduation I received a Cardio III in plum as a gift and I now use it at my new job. Very high quality steth. I love it!

The cheapest one you can get. You have no use for a cardiology stethoscope. You don't know what you are hearing or listening for anyway. A sprague is sufficient for most nurses.

Anything Littmann is good, except for the Lightweight. I'm just not a fan of plastic stethoscopes.

I have a Classic II se also and can really hear well with it! mine is carribbean blue with a rainbow head and my name engraved on it - and it never leaves my neck!

Haha. I have a Classic II se in carribean blue also with name engraved. I find it a great stethoscope for my needs. Can hear perfectly with it...and I have lost a little bit of hearing

I have a Classic II also, in light pink and also engraved. Almost everone I know in NS has the Classic II. I can hear heart sounds, breath sounds and bowel sounds perfect with it!
