Steps to become a

  • Hello! I'm currently a junior in high school. I've known what I want to do with my life for quite some time. My only problem is, I have NO IDEA how to get there! What should I major in university? Do I go to a separate nursing school after college? Couldn't I just earn my BSN at university? After that, which special steps do I take to become a PMHNP? Like special exams and that? I've been Googling for ages and every time I find an answer, I don't understand it because they use nurse speak. (Earn you BSN, then earn an MSN, then apply for the FRK and the XYZ) Thank you in advance!

    You have to be sure the university you are applying to has a nursing program that is accredited. Then you can complete an approved MSN or DNP program after obtaining your BSN.
