STCC 2010?

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Hello Everyone: I am new to this site and was wondering if anyone on here has any advice on being accepted into the STCC Nursing Program. I will be applying to the program for the fall of 2010. I am taking the pre-reqs now, but have a question regarding the HESI. Does the exam cover chemistry and physics in addition to A&P, Bio, Math, and English? I have the exam book and have been studying but wanted to make sure I study the correct subjects. Any advice would be great! Thank you.

Hello all,

Thank you so much for all of your posts. The information you share is soo helpful. I called STCC this morning regarding orientation. I was told it would be on May 20th and it will be all day. Mark your calendars! For those who have done orientation last year, do you remember if it began at 8:00 or 9:00?

I thought it started in the afternoon but that was so long ago, I really don't remember, sorry!

Thanks ladies! This info is very helpful!! I have a ton of questions!!! I had a question regarding watches. I do not own a casual watch and I saw in the book store they had them merchandised in the window with uniforms. Is there anything special to shop for ? I am trying to spread the uniform and necessity purchases out over the summer if possible. I also went to work n wear and they said the royal blue is changing? The Grey's anatomy bottoms were nice and soft but cut for juniors not misses and I found them a bit uncomfortable. The style they showed me there wasCherokee 4101P as I will need petite but even those were long with a slit up the leg?? I am on the fence about the stethescope. Can anyone recommend a good spot to shop for the Littman? I like the ultrascope's funkyness but after much thought I think I would rather something more professional looking?? OH one other question....If the clinical schedule says 8-12 or 7-12 is it really 8-12/7-12? or is it different. I was able to register for my classes before they froze registration for the NURS classes. So I am wondering if this is getting revised? Ok one more question and then I will stop :-) What is the deal with the phone? I heard that we get smartphones, or iphones? Who pays the service and what are the details behind the phone......Thanks!! N

The cheapest places I found so far for Littman steths are: Redding Medical supplies Littmann stethoscopes and Welch Allyn blood pressure units and Littmann Stethoscopes including Cardiology III, Classic II SE & Electronic . I bought a classic II se from medisave. They do free engraving but if you dont want engraving then redding is cheaper. Medisave ships out from CT. I got my order the next day with ground shipping.

Specializes in OR-ortho, neuro, trauma.

Buy a cheap watch from walmart. I would put it on when I got to clinical and took it off as soon as I left. You don't want what's in those places going home with you on your watch. Just my :twocents:

Does anyone know what happens to the students that are wait listed? what kind of chances do they have? How many students were able to get in the program in past years from wait list? Thank you.

Ok ladies I got my packet in the mail and I could not be more excited about the i phone option!! Does At & T offer us a discount on services?

Got mine too.... wooohooo

What if we already have an iPhone? Do we get some sort of reimbursement? I'm at work, haven't checked my mail yet today...can't wait!

Hi Jess,

I would probably get the one from school and keep it as a spare just in case something happens to yours. Then you wont be mad if something happens to your phone KWIM?

Does anyone know what the mandatory prerequisite summer hybrid course is?

Anyone out there know what style # we need for pants? I know someone had posted a few weeks back about Cherokee cargo pants but does anyone happen to know which exact model. I've been trying to price them out online but not quite sure if I'm looking at the right ones =)
