Just wondering if anyone else is trying to get into STCC this fall for Nursing? I'm finishing up prereqs now, and just took the HESI. I scored an 85, but want to take it again to see if I can get my score up even higher. I have a 4.0, so I'm hoping that as long as my midterm grades are A's/B+'s I'll be OK.
Got my rejection this morning It's OK, though. My sciences aren't done, and I know that's the only thing that held me back. I'm going to go into the MA program this fall, finish up my sciences, and reapply next year with a killer application. In the mean time, I'll be gaining experience in the health field.
Good luck this fall, everyone, and hopefully I'll be asking you guys for advice when I start next year :)
bahamilton, im so ****** like really. theres a boy in my anp2 class who got a 76.5 on the hesi and a horrible gpa who got put on the waitlist. how fair is that? and call the cbt and make sure that you will be allowed to take the hesi again because i was told u can only take it twice in ur whole life and the yr. n dont forget that aic is still aaccepting applications!!
Actually starting next year they are using a different test for admission, however on the stcc site it does say:
The scores previously earned on the HESI are acceptable through the class of 2013 and will be considered for admission if the test date is prior to February 28, 2011. That also applies to the ZIDS or 3-2-1 Calc taken for admission to the School of Nursing if successfully completed before February 28, 2011
They are also no longer requiring you to do the math for nursing as a pre-req for admittance. But if you have done already it will still count for you, and you won't have to take it the summer before classes start!

It said in the packet that we do.. but it wont start until a few weeks into the semester. We need to pick whether we prefer mornings or evenings at orientation!
