Staying awake to read!!

Ok, I have 73 more pages to read, three end of chapter reviews to do, and a test to take Friday on all of it. That is just to finish my 6 week Dev. Psych course.

I also have my last A&P 1 lab exam tomorrow I need to study for, plus I have to study for my last A&P 1 lecture test that must be taken by 1 pm Tuesday.

My question????? How in the world do you all manage to stay awake while reading material that is not your choice (I prefer medical thrillers), especially when the weather is rainy and cool as it is in the D/FW area of Texas right now?

ugggghhhhhhh! I just want to sleeeeeeeep!!!! :p

BTW, good luck to everyone on your finals!!

Fun2Care - I have found sunflower seeds work for me. Maybe it's the repetitive movement that keeps me going. I just went through three chapters of Statistics and studied for two tests trying to catch up in that class. I'm hopeful that I did well on the tests and I most definitely gained a better understanding of the material during the wee hours of the morning. When I got tired, I took a nap. I was usually awaken by a dream about hypothesis testing. Then, I would get right back into my studies.

I am currently studying for my final in Stats. I started reading all of my material last night, I will continue while I'm at work today, then do some practice questions tonight while my daughter is at dance lessons. I'll stay up until around 11:00 tonight, then sleep until 6:30 tomorrow morning. I'll review some more while I'm at work and take the final at 5:30 tomorrow.

I know exactly what you mean! I started reading Statistics yesterday and actually did fall asleep at the kitchen table, with empty coffee cup that I just drank. I gave in a went to bed four about 30 minutes and was fresh enough to finish the reading after that. Unless, I'm pressed for time, that's what I'll do, otherwise I'll get whiplash or fall out of my chair. LOL

Good luck to you too!

Good Luck to you Tweety! This is some of the most boring material I've ever had to

sit through. Oh well, it's all for the greater good, right? It's amazing how that little cat nap will refresh you.

Oh a cat nap sounds so good right now. I'd be afraid I would cat nap right past time to pick my lil one up from school. LOL (Maybe I should set my alarm clock.) :chuckle

Tweety: put pillows around your chair just in case. :rotfl:

Coffee is your friend. ;)

I think it would be harder to study if it was sunny and warm. At least you don't want to go out and spend the whole day in the zoo or in the Arboretum. :)

I wished I liked coffee. lol

I have been drinking too many energy drinks this last month! I don't know if they really work, or if they simply provide a placebo effect, but I really don't care! I'll soon have a week to sleep before Micro starts. :)

I hate to be a spoil sport, but a friend of mine went to the hospital because the whites of her eyes were so yellow, the doctor's answer, "too many energy drinks!" Rats, I loved those things too:( - Diane

lol...I know they're not good for you.....too much vitamins is not a good thing, just as not enough.

I don't drink that many, nor do I drink them every day, just when I have to stay up late. (Like I may have one today b/c I stayed up until 2:30 last night studying.)

I fall asleep reading ALL of the time.. so most of the time I just don't read.

Well, I had to read the Dev Psych book. 90% of the tests were from the book, 10% from the videos. It was a telecourse, so we didn't have lecture notes to study.

But.....it all paid off. I made an A. :)

Is it sad that my fiancee doesn't sleep in the bed with me anymore becuase EVERY night I pass out (notice I dont say go to sleep lol) on, no IN my textbooks??? My notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters and laptop are scattered all over his side of the bed...I guess the few times he tried to peel the A&P book off my face I yelled at him not to touch my stuff bc I was studying!! Let's just say he opts for the couch lately LOL....it's a sad existance folks but it will be worth it next august!!!

LOL....I can relate!! I have to clean the bed off so hubby can go to bed. Then I move stuff down stairs to study/read while everyone is sleeping.

I seem to fall asleep with my laptop on my lab (on my bed). .....hoping I don't roll over and drop it to the ground.... :chuckle
