stationary or mobile, advice

So I'm getting a new computer and i was wondering (for those RN students among other) if it is really necessary to have a notebook computer over a desktop computer. I know i'm going to probably get a MAC, but i want to know if, as a RN student, you really need the mobility or not? Thanks in advance.

It doesn't come with anything other than the basic text document (like "notebook"), but they have Microsoft office for macs. I have it and it's exactly the same as the windows version!

Nice.. thats exactly what I need. Well, looks like i will be getting a Macbook Pro. Thanks thatsthekey. Kudos for you and the information.

I just bought a Toshiba notebook laptop. 11 hrs of batter life, nuff said! plus you can get an external optical drive, if you need one..ie to utilize dvds, cds, etc. Just my recommendation.

Anderw12, I personally think a laptop is a must! LOL!! I study and do school work at night when the kids are in bed and the last thing I want, is to be stuck to a desktop late at night. I have an old dell and it runs sooo slow, but last night I was using it to play quiz games over some bones. I am actually getting a macbook pro as well, but I am waiting until May because the last couple years they have ran back to school specials and you can get a new ipod touch plus you still get your student discount! I hope they run the same special this summer!

Free Ipod Touch and student discount... I'm in. If i can wait that long. I already have an IPOD and IPHONE.. not sure I need another gadget like that. I'd rather take that IWorks i've been seeing. That looks perfect for a student..
