Hi all Im from Philippines, a NLE passer and an LPN in uae. Im plaaning to apply for u.s tourist visa next year and if God willing that ive granted a visa i want to apply and take nclex exam in CA and apply for work there, but im reading some info that you need to study again in CA before you can apply for exam, is that true? Is there any state which is easier to apply and then can i apply license for endorsement to CA after i passed to other state? thank you and God bless.

Well OK I guess I worded that wrong.Sorry.You can apply but don't you need a work visa to work?

Correct. All applications ask if a candidate has the legal authority to work in the US whether an established visa, legal permanent resident or citizen. Many employers automatically reject applicants without a social security number (some just ask do you have a valid for work SSN) or if they do not have legal status to work in the US.

I've seen some hospitals ask if one requires visa sponsorship and auto reject if yes is checked.

Just like if a job requires 3-5 years nursing experience and you indicate new grad, auto reject for not meeting minimum job requirements.

I have an American ssn but I cannot work in the States because I have no legal work permit. So having an American ssn doesn't necessarily mean you can work there.

Employers are required to check legal documents during the hiring process.

I think I also worded it wrong.

On a tourist visa you can look for work however you need a valid work or immigrant visa that allows you to live and work in the US to be able to stay. You can not legally work in the US on a tourist visa
