I just had a conversation about this with my MIL! Nervous and excited! Nervous to do it, excited to get it done!
My orientation isnt until the 11th, then another on the 18th. Classes don't start until the 24th so I'm going to start "uncluttering" my house today.
I am so thankful to my dh and MIL for pitching in beyond belief. I don't have to work (much) and my MIL cleans and watches the kids for us. I am greatful beyond words, but I think I will give them each a card this week.
I bought half of my books (the one's that were in). I will stop by the college this week to get the rest.
BLS/CPR class is on Saturday. More shots this month too:bluecry1: .
I need to learn how to use my PDA (once it gets here this week), I'm reading in my Fundamentals book to get ahead. I got the syllabus and hope to read up to the 6th week (404 pages) before school starts.
Need to freshen up on A&P, but that will probably come during school, so I can focus on the "parts" we are studying.
OK, now I'm a little more nervous than excited. Better go.
Woogy

I want to read ahead too, but I have to study math for my credit by exam test on the 9th.
I don't have butterflies in my stomach. I HAVE GIANT BATS!!! I am nervous out of my mind, and excited as well. I can't wait, but then again, I can. Makes sense? I still have to buy a couple of books and I have to do units 1-4 of my calculations book, which, of course, is one of the books I don't have. No green in my wallet, so I have to wait til next Friday and school starts Jan 9th!!!! AHHHHH!! Oh, well. God bless, good luck everyone!!!!!!

Hey Woogy! It's scary how much alike our lives sound!
I have been reading like a maniac. I read the first 9 chapters of my dosage calc's book, everyone has made such a fuss over the dosage calc test that you have to pass that I am not taking any chances! I tried reading chp. 1 of my Fundamentals book but, it's history stuff..I have a science/math brain. I have also started reading my pharmacology book and I am enjoying every minute of it. I feel like I am learning all new stuff. My hubby laughs at me. I am such a nerd! I have all of my required textbooks, but I haven't forked out the money for the optional/ recommended ones yet.
I can't wait for day one, except that my youngest will be going to daycare for the first time and I am stressing so bad over that it's actually keeping me up at night!

I HAVE ORIENTATION ON tHURSDAY AND SCHOOL STARTS ON THE 10TH. I am excited and nervous. I am very interested to meet the others who will be in class with me. I have all of my books and uniforms. I have been studying my Medical Terminology book. I was told by a friend who is in the program that they dont lecture on it at all. We will be expected to learn it and will then be tested on it. I have no idea what will be discussed at orientation but I am very excited! I am still waiting for my supplies from Allheart, but we wont need them for another few weeks.
I am excited. School starts 23rd; cpr class 9th; entrance exams on 10th; orientation on 18th.I was assigned ch 1-10 in calculations manual and ch 1-12 or so in pharmacology. Still waiting for a few supplies.
does everyone have a clalculations test the 1st week?
I sure hope we don't have a calculations test the first week!

For all those starting nursing school in the next few weeks, who is about to burst with excitement and nervous energy? I know I am. Have you had orientation and gotten your books yet?
