Hi Jake. Welcome to the US. Most Nurses here work about 40 hours a week. Maybe 36 one week and 48 the next but averages 40 hours. As far as federal income tax it's in the +/- 30% range. Most states also have state income tax. Then you pay into social security, optional company retirement etc. So I'd guess that
hourly pay x 40 hours a week x 52 weeks a year= gross salary. Take off about 35% for deductions.
I surely hope that made sense. Where will you be working?

I started at $7.10 an hour in 1984. I think pay has improved a bit.

So that's about $13.14 an hour today if you adjust for inflation.

Mid-Missouri, small community, not-for-profit, we offer just under $19.00 for ICU new grads (7a-7p) with 12% night differential.

I work in Mansfield, Ohio and my base starting pay for the SICU was $19.95/hour. I get an extra $0.25 and hour for my BSN. Night pay is an extra $3.00/hour and that is from 3p-7a. So on nights I make $23.20/hour.

Over here on the west side, California, I am making $43.93 as a new grad in the ICU. The mortgage is 3500.00 a month. Bills are around 1200 a month. I eat well and sleep warm. Its all relevant.

New ICU nurses start at 19.20 an hour in Fayetteville NC. A 500 bed hospital, all new nurses make this but ICU, ED, and L&D make an extra $1.10 per hour.
How much is rent in Fayetteville?
