what should a new grad RN as for as starting pay in med/surg hospital. nursing home, rehab?

No, you get the $5.00 differential for the entire shift

I hope to make the move up to PA within the next two years. I herd home prices are affordable and a great place for schools.

for med/surg in a hospital anywhere from 21-23 base. 23 is on the high end and thats if you work for a larger corporate. Private hospitals are 19-21. This is in Palm Beach/Broward area

Being in school nursing has messed up my expectations so much . . . I thought this was $21K annually but you meant $21.00/hr right??

Yes 21/hour. Nursing isn't salaried usually and they vary based on shift diffs and how much overtime you work.

I'm in Jacksonville and the starting pay for new grad ADNs here ranges from $21-24/hr (plus shift differentials) at hospitals. BSNs get $1/hr more. Hope that helps.

Specializes in ER.

I was offered $24 with five year experience and a specialty certification in Gainesville.....not sure what new grads make, but if an experienced rate is that bad then the new grad rate must suck!

Specializes in med-surg so far.

Don't come to Alabama! Base pay on med-surg unit for new grad RNs is around $18/hr in my area. 👿
