As said before, in some areas that would be right on target for an RN while in other areas it would be right on target for an LPN. And you have to take into consideration the agency itself and their pay practices. Are they paying another RN $30 an hour whose background matches your background? Some agencies will take advantage of the new hire if they can, while other agencies treat all employees with a certain level of respect.
I work for an agency in PA that has 7 offices. I get paid per visit, and 45cents a mile. I do alot of homework which I don't get paid for. I do like home health alot, I like my freedom and like my patients. I don't picture myself ever going back to the hospital.
If I may ask: What do you make per visit? What is a decent HH per visit amount ... on west coast and/or east coast?
I live 1.5 hours outside of Philly. I get $35 per visit and $65 for opens. I have been seeing 6-10 pts a day and am not suppose to work one weekend a month BUT I have been doing a open every weekend for the last month or so. I am making more money now than I did in the hosp but I am also working more. I usually don't get home till 5-6 and then have paperwork. But it is day work and my kids say I am not as angry as I was when I worked nights. So I plan on staying with home care, but have been looking around at other agencies.
If you have any questions please feel free to PM me.

Is a starting pay of $24 dollars an hour a good starting pay for a home health nurse position? **Take into account there is no home health experience, however 2 years experience as a rn**
