Stanford Valleycare Oct 2023 New Grad Residency

Nurses Residency

Published

Application process began yesterday and I don't see a thread for it yet.  This is for the location in Pleasanton CA.

Good luck to all those applying!

RN Residency Program Timeline:

June 30-July 19, 2023: Applications accepted

August 16-18, 2023: Interviews

October 2, 2023: Residency Begins

Thank you for starting this thread! I didn't even know there was another residency program through Stanford. I also applied and interviewed for the main campus residency program but unfortunately didn't receive a second interview. I am just glad I found this post in time to reach out to a few professors for letters of recommendation, so seriously thank you again for starting this thread!

I went to Roseman University in Utah. I think I saw you got moved to round two. Did you have an interview to move to round two? Also does anyone know if the interview will be in person or on zoom?

Oh nice! I've only been to Utah once but it was so pretty! and everything is HUGE there!

I didn't have to interview to move to round 2 so I'm hoping once I answer these questions and send everything in that will be the next step.

Im not sure if it's on zoom or in person? good question!!

Utah is beautiful but I was definitely homesick so I am glad to be back home in the bay. If you like anything outdoors it would be worth it to visit again. I snowboard and do plan on going back for their snow parks. They also have amazing hikes out there and some great national parks.

Hopefully my professors get back to me sooner than later so I can finish my application.

Wishing us all luck! It is tough out here trying to find a job as a new grad LOL

Has anyone completed the application yet and know what the supplemental questions are?

They didn't specify! Im assuming adult >,< But thats me basing it off the fact that Stanford has a separate Children's hospital with a different residency program

It's adult for all the units available for the residency. SHC-TV has a maternal child unit (which encompasses peds), but as far as I understand, they're not taking new grads for that particular unit.

Thank you so much this is super helpful! Has anyone applied to Stanford Children's and hear any updates?

Thank you! ?

The questions are in the email. They are the usual style with can you commit to this? You understand you will work every other weekend and some holidays? There are more but nothing out of the ordinary.

Not sure on the resume length but I did send them unofficial transcripts and apparently they want official ones! Sooo I'll be adding those in.

Oooooo how was the job fair? Any prospects?

Did you get your NCLEX results yet? I just checked mine and it FINALLY says I passed! YAYYY ??

OMG they want official??? I only have unofficial and IDK how long it would take my university to send me official ones ? You think they'd be okay if I first send them unofficial and then proceed with official ones after?
