To all New Grad RN's
QuoteI got an email from HR about this yesterday! Did you hear back from him yet after confirming your license?
I got an e-mail yesterday re: my license yesterday and got a follow up today that I was selected for an interview for the surgical unit! He didn't give me a time or date.
QuoteYes, please can everyone who gets an interview post their school & GPA, any other accomplishments that you're willing to share. This would be really helpful for others I believe. Thank you!
MICU preceptorship, 3.5 GPA, LVN 2 years. Not sure what they're looking for because last round, I had friends get accepted with varying stats - seemed like it was all over the place. (a friend with a C+ in ICU, 3.4 overall GPA, s got accepted over a friend with a 4.0

Whoops submitted too fast.
Accepted over a friend with a 4.0 GPA, ICU internship and great extracurriculars/leadership. Seems they look holistically at the applicant as a whole which is great

That’s great! Congratulations!! Around what time did you respond to his initial email and what time did you get a response? You totally don’t have to tell me if you feel uncomfortable! I’m just trying to gauge if he has seen my email in his inbox yet (I’m assuming his inbox is POPPING right now).
I’m hoping for an interview too since they wouldn’t ask me for an update if they weren’t interested, right? ?
Just a little confused bc my friend got an interview the same day I got the license update email even though we both got licensed on the same day (so on both of our apps, it would’ve said that we were still unlicensed)

BSN, CVICU senior preceptorship, 3.5gpa, 10+ years paramedic
Hi medictobsn
I think you have an excellent background and personally speaking, you are a good candidate for the ICU setting. However, If I am to think outside the box, you have so many years of paramedic experience which they think will be difficult to change into the nursing world. Again, I might be wrong too who knows. But don't give up just yet. Keep your head to the very end.

medictobsn, I think your paramedic experience will only help you as a nurse, and you seem to have a very impressive background! I think there are a lot of people left to be reached out to; so far only a few people on here have gotten an offer to interview, and all at different times, so let us all stay positive!

I am almost certain they are contacting people unit by unit! I think what happens is you are offered an interview, and you have 2 days to either accept or decline. The recruiter updated everyone saying there are 160 spots for interviews. As people decline the interview (due to another job or no longer interested), that allows for more room for the next people along the list to also be contacted.
I know August 3-21 is a very long waiting time, but behind the scenes I know there is a lot going on. Hope this helps!
also, has anyone here been contacted for any of the Medicine or Surgical units yet?
