To all New Grad RN's

The recruiter updated everyone saying there are 160 spots for interviews. As people decline the interview (due to another job or no longer interested), that allows for more room for the next people along the list to also be contacted.
I know August 3-21 is a very long waiting time, but behind the scenes I know there is a lot going on. Hope this helps!
also, has anyone here been contacted for any of the Medicine or Surgical units yet?
Actually, now that I'm scrolling back in these posts, I did see someone say they have an interview for the medical unit too. So far it seems like there has been an offer for every unit. Crossing my fingers!
I just want to give a little insight to the interview process! Last cohort, it seemed like the majority of interview invites were sent out within a week and then there were some people who didn't get an interview offer until like 1 week before interviews. In these cases, these people got an offer to their second choice specialty (ie put ICU first, got an interview invite for surg). The first interview will be for all the units of the "specialty" you're interviewing under. Ex. if you're interviewing under "Medical" you will interview with the 8(close to this #) Medical units and then would be called for a second interview with one specific unit if you make it through. There are many more Medical and Surgical units than ICU and Oncology units, so more people will interview for those, and more will be hired onto those units.

Thanks for the insight! Do you have any tips for interviewing? I have an interview scheduled with surgical!
I would say the interviews are pretty on point to what K's email depicts. I think for all there are 3 other candidates and then a unit manager from each unit with the interview being "moderated" by an educator of some sort. The managers briefly introduce themselves and then there are 4 questions, each candidate rotates going first, you'll each answer the same questions. There wasn't any time for questions in my first interview. The second interviews varied A LOT from unit to unit, so don't psych yourself out. (Some people had clinical scenarios, some didn't have any, some were in depth- one candidate with the managers, some were very similar to the first interview- 4 candidates with the managers, etc).

I know a few people that have been recruited for surgical, haven't heard anything about medical yet!
From what I've seen, they won't update any rejections until after all of the interviews have been set up. So if we haven't been chosen, we won't know until 8/21 or later. I wouldn't give up! Like she said above, there are still 40 spots. My friend who has an interview set up still has her status as "in review" as well.
