Hello everyone,
I just wanted to submit this here to start a place where all of us who have applied to Stanford's nurse residency program can communicate. This is for cohort 39, which has a start date of August 21, 2023. I hope we all get in!

Oh wait, so have you been working as an RN since you graduated in 2021? Cause I thought the new grad residency program is for new grads with zero work experience and people who have worked as RNs for less than 6 months

Unfortunately, no. I was originally suppose to move to Texas and do an ICU residency program I was accepted I to, but I got pregnant & so that pretty much out a pause to all of my plans. ?

Their website says you need to have graduated within the last 18 months. I hope they consider you due to having a baby; pregnancy/ babies are no joke!
Hi all!
I applied with putting oncology as my first choice. I haven't received anything but my application still says in review.
does anyone know how long they usually send our interview emails for? I know they say until June 16th but realistically does anyone know? Has anyone already received an email to interview for oncology?
Im feeling pretty discouraged right now, I feel that my application was completed in a rush and does not compare to the competitiveness of the other applicants.
let me know! Congrats to those who already received news!

Cohort 38 received offers through the stated window and past the date the was stated, I guess as applicants were declining offers. Other than reading other people's experiences here I don't know. It seems that they're going by departments, I hear you on feeling discouraged I'm right there.

Thanks for the response! What was your top choice? Did you apply to cohort 38?
also, do you know of any other new grad programs in the Bay Area receiving applicants RN? I'm also feeling discouraged because information on these programs can be so hard to find and I've missed the deadline for many already

No this is my first time applying. My first choice was surgical! UCSF has one opening late July, exact dates are tba on ther website. Places like regional I've heard are much easier to get in, pretty much everyone from my class who applied got in.

Congratulations on the baby. Everything happens for a reason and it's really great that you took the time off to be with your baby.
All the best!

Oh nice! Where did you go to school? I went to school out of state so it's been hard finding things since im not as familiar with the area.
thats encouraging to hear about regional! Is that the regional medical center in San Jose? I just applied there today for a new grad spot on their med surge tele floor. Do you know what program your classmates applied for/when they applied?

I just graduated from Dominican University of CA with a BSN. It's a private school in San Rafael so about 1-1.5 hours from Stanford. Interviewing for the ED!
